This is an simple workflow (extension) for Alfred that simulates a real-life Magic 8 Ball. It gives a random response from a set of 20.
If you like this workflow please star it on Github or reply to its forum post.
Usage
See gif above. Type "8ball" and the Magic
8 Ball interface will pop up. To shake it,
simply press enter. You can press enter to
reshake.
Responses
The responses given by the workflow are
the one's on a real Magic 8 Ball. There
are 10 positive responses, 5 "ask again"
responses, and 5 negative responses. Basic
probability tells me this is a 2/3 chance
of getting a "Yes" and a 1/3 chance of
getting a "No," assuming one retries "Ask
Again" responses until he/she gets a
definitive answer.
Positive Responses
It is certain
It is decidedly so
Without a doubt
Yes definitely
You may rely on it
As I see it, yes
Most likely
Outlook good
Yes
Signs point to yes
"Ask Again" Responses
Reply hazy try again
Ask again later
Better not tell you now
Cannot predict now
Concentrate and ask again
Negative Responses
Don't count on it
My reply is no
My sources say no
Outlook not so good
Very doubtful
